The theme for World Water Day 2018 is ‘Nature for Water’ – exploring nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century. Damaged ecosystems affect the quantity and quality of water available for human consumption. Today, 2.1 billion people live without safe drinking water at home; affecting their health, education and livelihoods.
Aither was pleased to support the Australian Government in the development of A Guide to Managing Water for the Environment as part of Australia's contribution to the UN/World Bank High Level Panel on Water. The Guide was launched at the World Water Forum this week in Brazil. Aither Director Will Fargher and Huw Pohlner (胡文平) also presented the WaterGuide framework, updated with insights from our recent work in Jordan, Iran, Senegal and Mexico.
